Layered Chile Casserole

In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, create new traditions with your family. Enjoy this delicious breakfast recipe, courtesy of Kraft(R).

Serves 8

1/2 lb. chorizo or 1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. adobo seasoning
1 cup picante sauce or salsa
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup flour
1 pkg. (8 oz.) KRAFT Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
4 poblano chiles, roasted, seeded and quartered

BROWN sausage in large skillet on medium heat; drain. Add onion, garlic and adobo seasoning; cook until onion is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in picante sauce; simmer 5 minutes.

MIX eggs, sour cream and flour in medium bowl; stir in cheese. Layer 1/2 each of the chiles, sausage mixture and egg mixture in greased 8-inch square baking dish. Repeat layers.

BAKE at 350*F for 35 minutes or until center is set. Serve with additional sour cream, if desired.

Serve this hearty breakfast dish with cut-up fresh fruit and a hot cup of brewed coffee.
