THE FIRST SINGLE “ADIOS” (Goodbye) FROM THEIR ANTICIPATED SECOND ALBUM “ELECTRICIDAD” (Electricity) DEBUTED AT # 25 ON BILLBOARD’s LATIN POP CHART AND IS AMONG THE TOP FIVE SONGS ON MEXICO’S RADIO STATIONS
“ELECTRICIDAD” WILL BE RELEASED WORLDWIDE ON SEPTEMBER 15
Miami, FL (July 27, 2009) – Almost three years after they rose to fame with their smashing hit “Espacio Sideral” (Sideral Space), the successful brother-sister duo and Latin Grammy winners Jesse and Joy returned to the music charts stronger than ever. Their first single “ADIOS” (Goodbye) from their anticipated second album ELECTRICIDAD (Electricity), to be released on September 15th by Warner Music Latina, debuted at #25 on Billboard’s Pop Latin charts in its first week, making it their highest debut yet.
The new single, written by Jesse and Joy and co-produced by Jesse and award-winning producer Thom Russo, was released last week on Spanish radio stations in the US, Mexico and Puerto Rico and is rapidly climbing to the top. In Mexico the song is among the top five most requested songs.
Next week the talented duo will start an extensive promotional tour that will include cities such as Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and later Puerto Rico, where just last year four of the songs included on their first album ESTA ES MI VIDA (This is My Life) were being played simultaneously on all radio stations.
Jesse & Joy debuted in 2003 with ESTA ES MI VIDA, which became a Platinum record, generated four radio hits including: “Espacio Sideral,” “Ya No Quiero,” “Llegaste Tú,” “Esto Es Lo Que Soy,” and received several nominations for some of the most important music awards, such as Premios Juventud and MTV Latin America.
In 2007, Jesse and Joy performed live at the Latin Grammy awards ceremony where they were also recognized by the academy as the “Best New Artist.” That same year, they became spokespersons for “La Onda Verde” (The Green Wave), an organization that specializes in creating awareness of global warming, public health and the environment.
