Present Tense
Present tense verbs are used in the following situations:
- actions that occur now
- an action that is habitual or generally repeated
- used to express actions that began in the past and continue in the present. They are formed by combining the verb 'hacer' + 'expression of time' + 'que' + the present tense verb.

There are a number of irregular verbs in present tense such as dar, hacer and saber that change in the first person only. Other verbs such as decir, tener and estar are irregular in all forms except nosotros. Certain verbs, such as querer, jugar and dormir have letters that change within the verbs themselves.
