March's Grade 4 Spanish Vocabulary
Antigua, Guatemala
This month you have the opportunity to learn a little bit about Antigua, Guatemala. Antigua is a colonial city set in the Panchoy Valley of Guatemala surrounded by 3 volcanoes.
The short paragraphs are written in Spanish. Try your best to read the passage and understand its meaning. Following the passages are vocabulary lists which you may consult if you are having trouble understanding a particular word or sentence. Not all of the words are given in the vocabulary list however.
Each passage focuses on a different topic. First is a brief description of Antigua. Next follows a short history of the colonial city and finally you can learn a little about their celebration "Semana Santa" which is truly spectacular.
